In our obstetrics department, we support you not only before and during the birth, but also in the weeks and months afterwards. Our aim is to give you and your baby the best possible start in life. We support you with a wide range of services, consultations and courses for you and your baby.
The baby is finally here!
After a long wait, you are now holding your baby in your arms. Even with thorough preparation for this moment, you will have many questions and feelings of uncertainty. We are here to help and advise you in the first days of your child's life and prepare you for the exciting first days at home during your stay.
Postnatal period: If you do not give birth on an outpatient basis, you will stay in the clinic for a few days after the birth. The midwives and nursing staff will provide you with support and valuable tips.
Inseparable: With the "baby bay bed" right by your bed, your baby is always very close to you.
Care and examinations: Midwives and doctors are available around the clock for you and your baby. The examinations U1, U2, hearing test and metabolic test of the baby are carried out in the clinic
Family room: Each room can also be booked as a family room so that your partner or a companion can experience the first days with the baby up close.
Breastfeeding: Breastfeeding is a very personal matter for mother and child - a special breastfeeding room is available for this purpose. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You are also welcome to take advantage of our breastfeeding café after your time at the clinic.
Baby care: We are also available to answer any questions you may have about caring for your baby. Baby photography: Our baby photographer will be happy to take your baby's first souvenir photos on request. To the baby gallery

Treatments & Consultations
Laser therapy
Laser therapy is a pain-free treatment that improves your well-being and after the birth. This option can also be used for complaints such as caesarean section scars and nipple discomfort. Our specially trained team will be happy to advise you.

Kinesiological taping
Kinesiological tape and the special application method were developed by a Japanese chiropractor. The aim of the application is to support the body's own healing processes and restore normal joint mobility.

Uro-gynecological consultation
For postnatal incontinence
As quite a few women develop pelvic floor weakness and problems with incontinence after giving birth, the Hospital zum Heiligen Geist offers a uro-gynecological consultation to support and care for affected patients.

The postpartum period - care on our ward
In this video, Sigrun Fritzsche, head of the postnatal ward, introduces you to her ward. You will gain an insight into the wide range of care and support services on offer after the birth. From the general equipment in the rooms to the medical care and the shared breastfeeding room. Few experiences are as personal and moving as the birth of a child. It is a moment full of both joy and great challenges. Where better to begin this new phase of life than in a family environment? In an atmosphere where the needs of family and child are prioritised? Breastfeeding outpatient clinic and counselling
If you have any questions about breastfeeding, please visit us in our breastfeeding outpatient clinic.

Breastfeeding counselling:
The offer includes intensive and individual support and counselling during a breastfeeding session. By telephone appointment under: (069) 2196 - 2770. The cost for individual counselling is 50.00 euros/hour.
Midwife and nursing rounds
Our midwives, paediatric nurses and nursing staff make daily rounds. Here you can clarify any doubts or uncertainties regarding the care of your baby and the postnatal period.
Midwife outpatient clinic
For new parents, a midwife is on hand to offer advice and support in the Parents' School at the Hospital zum Heiligen Geist.
